Objective

Put LaTeX object on Inkscape by using textext extension.

Test environment

Slackware Linux 14.1

Installing

Download textext-0.4.4.tar.gz from textext — Random Muse and extract it to ~/.config/inkscape/extentions/:

tar xvf Downloads/textext-0.4.4.tar.gz -C .config/inkscape/extensions

Install dependency softwares: pstoedit, python-lxml and pdf2svg. You can easily install them by following SlackBuilds of Git repository of SlackBuilds.org:

  • office/pstoedit
  • python/lxml
  • graphics/pdf2svg

Run Inkscape and go to [Extensions]->[Tex Text], then a window will open. Write tex at the window then LaTeX object will be created.

To re-edit tex scripts of the generated LaTeX object, click the object and execute [Extensions]->[Tex Text] again.
